Over 12,000 square metres of camouflage nets have been made at the University of Tartu for Ukraine
For almost three years, camouflage net weaving for the Ukranian armed forces has been taking place at the UT. We are looking for new weavers to join again this year.

"Vilma Trummal 100" exhibition opening and presentation of a new digital textbook in archaeology
The exhibition „Vilma Trummal 100“ opens at the University of Tartu Philosophicum Hall Gallery (Jakobi 2, Tartu) on 21 November, the day that the celebrated archaeologist and university lecturer was born 100 years ago. A new digital textbook „Materials in Archaeology“ will also be presented at the exhibition opening. The exhibition opens at 16.00.
Guest lecture by Nigel DeSouza (University of Ottawa) "Herder and Kant on the philosophy of life and the foundations of morality"
On Tuesday, 15 October, from 4:15–5:45 pm, Nigel DeSouza, Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa, will give a guest lecture at the University of Tartu. The topic of the lecture is "Herder and Kant on the philosophy of life and the foundations of morality: two models of German enlightenment, with a modern perspective". The lecture will take place at Jakobi 2-114.

On 5 September, one of the world’s leading moral philosophers, Professor Jeff McMahan from the University of Oxford, will give a public lecture on the ethics of killing and just war theory. His lecture marks the publication of a special issue of a philosophy journal focused on the Russia-Ukraine war. The event will be held from 16:00 to 18:00 in White Hall at the University of Tartu Museum.
