On 9 October at 16:15, Riikka Taavetti, a lecturer at University of Turku will give a lecture "Queer Connections between Finland and Estonia, from the 1970s to the 1990s" in room 114 of Jakobi study building.

On 7 October at 16:15, Anu Lillak will defend her doctoral thesis "From ashes to interpretation: Fragmented, commingled and cremated human remains in Estonian Roman Iron Age (50‒450 CE) tarand cemeteries".

On 27 October from 13–18, the University of Tartu development conference “A university for us, Estonia and the world” took place at the assembly hall of the university's main building and online to initiate a discussion on topics important for society and the university. The discussion were be based on the new University of Tartu strategic plan approved in June.

In Arvo Pärt’s jubilee year, the lectures from his year as a University of Tartu professor of liberal arts have become accessible to an international audience, as English subtitles have been added to the recordings of the lecture series.
