From 5 to 30 January, digital clutter will be cleaned up at the University of Tartu. The university invites everyone to spend at least 30 minutes every week tidying up their personal or unit’s digital space.

In 2025, the study that drew the most attention in public digital channels was led by Professor of Botany Meelis Pärtel and confirms the negative effect of human activity on wildlife biodiversity.

On 27–28 November, the conference „Climate Compass 2025: The Art of Adaptation in the Light of Science" will take place in Tartu, marking 160 years since the beginning of meaningful weather observations in Estonia.

The University of Tartu, Tallinn University of Technology, Tallinn University, the Estonian University of Life Sciences, the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, the Estonian Academy of Arts, and the Gender Equality and Equal Treatment Commissioner celebrate the Diversity Week from 6 to 12 May, under the title “Diverse Estonian universities”.

On 8 April, the conference “Out of the Shadows. Unearthing Women’s Stories of the Past” will be held in the main building of the University of Tartu.

The theme week, running from 5 to 11 February, will include a social media campaign highlighting the work and achievements of women researchers.

The Digital Cleanup Week will take place at the University of Tartu for the fourth time from 22 to 26 January.

Over the next seven years, the government will fund ten centres of excellence addressing scientific issues of importance to Estonia. The University of Tartu has tight connections with all of them.

The university will use the survey to find out what kind of mobility Estonia's largest university brings about and what attitudes staff and students hold towards sustainable mobility.
