On 7 October at 16:15, Anu Lillak will defend her doctoral thesis "From ashes to interpretation: Fragmented, commingled and cremated human remains in Estonian Roman Iron Age (50‒450 CE) tarand cemeteries".

In connection with an upcoming exhibition on Voltaire at the University of Tartu’s Museum of Art, and in collaboration with the Voltaire Foundation, University of Oxford, international conference "Voltaire in the Baltic World: Circulations, Receptions, Legacies" will be held on 5-6 March 2026 at the University of Tartu, Estonia. The conference is held in partnership with the Voltaire Foundation, University of Oxford.

Doctoral defence: Kadi Kähär-Peterson „Garlieb Merkel’s Political Thought: A Baltic Perspective on Enlightenment“

On 22 October, doctoral researchers of the University of Tartu have an opportunity to introduce their research results to the public in the format of a three-minute short lecture.

On May 20, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., Associate Professor Ingrid Harrington from the University of New England, Australia will hold a guest lecture at University of Tartu on the award-winning project “Commencing Student Success Project”. The project provides 14 strategies aimed at helping all students feel supported at university and enhancing their academic success.

Next academic year, the professorship of liberal arts will be held by poet, children’s author and prosaist Viivi Luik.
